Living in nature: Sand riverbeds close to mangroveroots
Size: 35cm in diameter
Aquariumsize: Minimum 1 square meter
Food: Shrimps, small fish, shellfish and worms
Water type : Freshwater, neutral to slightly acidic
In the aquarium: Large bottom surface, ca 30cm water level. Roots and fine sand.
Misc: Sensitive at the acclimatisationperiod and to unclean water. They have a spine at the tip of the tail which are poisonous, the spine are used for defense.A sting from it can be a painful experience but in most cases it doesnt lead to more seroius injuries.
